From my courageous clients:

Just this one time
, I'm going to eat a healthy meal. I don't know what will happen when I might be too tired to resist the fast food, but just this one time, I'm going to nourish by body with nutrient rich foods.

Just this one time, I'm not going to snap back at my teenaged daughter. I might not be able to handle her anxiety next when it spills over to me, but just this one time, I'm going to choose love and peace instead of anger.
Just this one time, I'm not going to engage in the office gossip. I may not always be able to resist the pull to share destructive conversation, but just this one time, I'm going to walk away.
Just this one time, I'm not going to have a drink. I can't be sure I'll never give in to the urge to numb out when I am sad or frightened, but just this one time, I'm going to do something positive and healing instead.
Just this one time, I'm going to speak up when my husband negates me in front of others. I don't expect to always have enough courage to defend myself, but just this one time, I am going to take a stand for my self-worth.
Just this one time, I'm going to follow through with my meditation practice. I know that disruptions might make it hard to find the time in the future, but just this one time, I'm going to gift myself with a deep, spiritual connection.

You may not always do everything right, every time ... but just this one time you can do something.
