How might your life be different if suddenly everything you’ve been hiding behind disappeared?
Every day most of us choose consciously or unconsciously to ‘hide’ behind something we believe will protect us from what we imagine is a dangerous world. We hide behind people, addictions, credentials, policies and beliefs because somewhere along our life journey, we learned what it took to feel safe. But what we imagine is safe, can be painful. Safe can feel lonely, sad and empty of fulfillment. What I’ve learned from years of tearing down walls is that even if I get a little scratched up and bruised from the process, in the end, I am always liberated beyond what I dreamed.
Truthfully, when you cling to a self-sabotaging thought or behaviour, you are really running from a self-negating story that replays over and over in your mind. Once you fall in love with the precious creature that you are, the story changes, the walls come down easily, giving way to enormous possibility.
