For The Sake of What?

We are all busy living our lives, doing our 'work', keeping promises, making commitments and showing up. Sometimes it's because we said we would which is beautifully illustrated on Alex Sheen's website.

And always it's because something matters to us.

As we worked together, my colleague Leslie Kennedy would often ask "for the sake of what?' Making decisions and planning a strategy are usually outcome oriented. If you are absolutely clear AND completely honest with why you are doing what you are doing, it's much easier to plan the route you take. Indeed, this is your template or Stake that you keep in the forefront to remember why it matters.

I'm leading a workshop on Saturday, November 9th called Time For Change. It will be an interactive, life-shifting experience and I'm doing it for the sake of teaching women where and how they get into drama, the impact it has on their lives and how to get out of it. That really matters to me because I know first hand how destructive it can be to hold a position as a Victim or a Rescuer. And ultimately, if you are in one of these ruts, you will eventually wind up as a Persecutor. Or maybe you just naturally start there because, like me, you have had a long history of victim orientation and default to blaming someone else.

So ... for the sake of peace in ourselves, our relationships, communities, businesses and our world, I'm leading this Women's Workshop.  And you?
